If you’re looking for family friendly fun, Frankenmuth, Michigan is the perfect getaway! It is one of my favorite local go-to vacation spots, for years we’ve been celebrating family birthdays at Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth with delicious family style chicken dinner.
Springhill Suites by Marriot
An all-suite hotel in downtown Frankenmuth with easy access to popular attractions like Zehnder’s Restaurant, Bavarian Inn Restaurant, and Frankenmuth Historical Museum.
Hotel amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, free breakfast, free parking, Business Center with photo copier/fax services. Hotel front desk is open 24-hours offering baggage storage, convenience store and self-serve laundry. Towels are provided at the heated indoor pool & hot tub with outdoor patio, and a fitness center.
Our stay was in the fall, October of 2020, in a two-queen suite. I was working remotely so the desk area, separate from the bedroom, was perfect for work. We really enjoyed riding the Bavarian Belle and our visit to Grandpa Tiny’s Farm, meeting farmer Wendy and all the animals!








Fairfield Inn Suites by Marriott
Stylish and comfortable, the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Frankenmuth is located in an ideal setting right downtown. A top choice among hotels in Frankenmuth, Michigan, thoughtful amenities include free Wi-Fi, free parking and complimentary breakfast.
Guests have the pleasure of a well-equipped fitness center, a heated indoor pool with Hot tub and beach towels. As well as a Business Center with Internet Access and Photo copier/fax machine. The 24-hour front desk also offers baggage storage.
We visited for my birthday celebration on Memorial Day in May of 2022. We walked a couple blocks through downtown to Bavarian Inn Restaurant, and I enjoyed my free birthday meal! It was nice to not have to cook or buy anyone’s meal on my Birthday! After dinner we walked across to the Platz for some Polka dancing and live music! Then we took the riverwalk route back to our hotel.
Housekeeping even left me a gift and card in my room wishing me a Happy Birthday! It was so kind!









Bavarian Inn Lodge
Bavarian Inn Lodge is a treasure in the heart of downtown Frankenmuth, as well as the top tourist attraction in the area. Guests come to stay and play, for the home-cooked chicken dinners, and warm Bavarian hospitality.
I reserved a special Birthday Party package for my son which included a small birthday sign on our room door, a small balloon with a tin of candy, a birthday card, a small ice cream, and arcade credit.


The Lodge is the largest accommodation in Frankenmuth with 360 European-themed guest rooms. Room types include whirlpool, family suites and balcony rooms.
If you’re looking for entertainment, enjoy a round of 18-Hole indoor miniature golf, 160+ arcade games, air hockey, table tennis and pool tables. The indoor water park features four indoor pools, include 1 adult only pool and two large water slides. The littles will love the two-story Children’s Village play scape castle.




Enjoy Free WIFI, access to welcoming 24-hour front desk staff and a hotel concierge. Other perks of the resort include two lounges, two gift shops, a Fitness Center, baggage storage and on-site ATM. For the business travelers, there are conference facilities, banquet rooms and meeting rooms.
On site food and dining includes two restaurants, vending machine, convenience store and Gourmet Coffee Bar.

Transportation options include free on-site parking, as we as a free accessible Shuttle bus service, which takes riders across the covered bridge to the Bavarian Inn Restaurant and River Place Shops, then circles back to the Bavarian Inn Lodge.
Be sure to walk over near the covered bridge to see the peacocks!









Zehnders Splash Village
Zehnder’s Splash Village Hotel and Waterpark is the largest indoor waterpark in Frankenmuth, offering 178 deluxe accommodations which include 74 family suites. With a whimsical theme throughout, cute fairies and elf-like decor all throughout. Upon entering the hotel lobby, a towering 26-foot tree hangs overhead with a large gas fireplace built into the trunk and the front desk there is open 24 hours.
As one of Michigan’s top family destinations guests can enjoy an arcade, over 50,000 sq. ft. of aquatic fun with a six-story raft ride and super loop body slide. Featuring a zero-entry activity pool, 4 story tube slides, relax in the Whimsical Whirl Hot Tub and then float the Crooked Brook Creek Lazy River.
Food and dining options are available at Elf hollow cafe or the Mushroom Grille, adult drinks are available, and a breakfast buffet. Complimentary shuttle service is available to Zehnder’s Restaurant and The Fortress Golf Course. There is free on-site parking, an ATM, laundry service, a gift shop and fitness center. Those on business can look forward to free High-Speed Internet, conference facilities, banquet rooms and meeting rooms.
We visited in February of 2022, as a mid-winter getaway. It was well worth and much needed! For a moment in time, I was on vacation and warm in Michigan in the winter!
I booked a meal package add-on that included a family style chicken dinner at Zehnder’s Restaurant and breakfast buffet in the morning at Elf Hollow Cafe. After dinner we came back, and everyone gathered in the lobby for a movie, Beauty and the Beast, on the big screen.
