For 38 years the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe holds an annual Powwow each summer. Powwows are a celebration of American Indian culture. People from diverse indigenous nations gather for dancing, singing, and honoring the traditions of their ancestors. Saginaw Chippewa Tribe Powwow is open for the public to attend and takes place at the tribal campground: 7529 E Tomah Rd, Mount Pleasant.
Clare has a rich history that goes back much further than my memories recall. In the 1800's it was busting with railroad activity. My grandpa was a farmer, and my ancestors were Amish, so I have been attending Amish events and frequenting Amish owned businesses since I can remember. I even remember attending concerts at the Clare County Fairgrounds, I got Willie Nelson's autograph there when I was 10 years old.
