Woods Restaurant – Mackinac Island
There is something so special about the scenic ride out to The Woods for dinner. It is a magical two-mile trek from downtown. Tucked between the Inn at Stonecliffe and the back 9 of The Jewel, Grand Hotel’s golf course.
You’ll want to arrange your transportation ahead of time. Walk or ride bikes past the West Bluff through the Annex for the most beautiful route. To schedule a carriage call Mackinac Island Carriage Tours to reserve a taxi or for The Woods Shuttle, a carriage with scheduled pick-up times on Main Street in front of the Star Line Dock.
Along Cudahy Circle, high atop Mackinac Island’s West Bluff, you will find two classic Tudor mansions. The largest is The Inn at Stonecliffe, Mansion and Suites; a summer staple for weddings and sweet romantic getaways.
Next door, you will find Woods Restaurant with its beautiful opulent exterior and colorful Bavarian charm. The Woods Restaurant is the epitome of romantic dining experience, with its unbeatable character and ambiance.
One foot in the door and you begin to absorb the true experience. Inspired by a Swiss hunting lodge in the interior, you are greeted by a warm inviting fire as aromas fill the air. Woods Restaurant offers a truly special dining experience, tapping into all five senses.
Arrive a little earlier than your reservation time to enjoy a drink and fresh popcorn at Bobby’s Bar. Be sure to try your luck at America’s oldest operational Duck Pin Bowling Alley.
Be seated in the Gingham adorned main dining room, alongside a cozy fireplace and enjoy the nightly piano performance. For an all-natural setting, choose the outdoor patio to be among flower blossoms and feel the island breeze.
Reservations here are a must, as this tops Mackinac Island Restaurants. Each beautiful dish, served alongside a warm friendly welcome. Fine German cuisine with seamless presentation, has you leave feeling like family.
Crystal Mountain – Thompsonville
We stayed in the cutest cottage ever at Crystal Mountain with cozy lobbies and an outdoor hot tub. The Crystal Spa has an indoor pool and hot tub, all with beautiful mountain views.
Holland, Michigan
Getaway to Holland, Michigan and it is so romantic. There is something about Spring and flowers in bloom. If you’re looking to plan something romantic, I would definitely recommend a walk on the boardwalk, visit a beach, see art and museums. There are plenty of nice restaurants and lodging options available.
Grand Hotel – Mackinac Island
Arrive via horse carriage for the most romantic experience. It is a historic one of kind hotel, where no two rooms are decorated alike. Head to the parlor to see the harpist playing during afternoon tea or demitasse. Once that completes, make your way to Terrace Room for live music and dancing the night away.
Wake up in the morning to watch the sun rise from the world’s longest front porch and take a wander through the Secret Garden.
Amway Grand Plaza – Grand Rapids
Right in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, is this historic hotel built in 1913. The perfect backdrop for a nice romantic getaway. From the ambiance to the decor, Amway Grand Plaza speaks of romance.
We had a beautiful river view room on 4th of July, so the view of fireworks filling the night sky was spectacular! There is so much to do in the hotel, you really don’t need to leave.
Several on-sight bars and dining options even include a secret code entrance to the Speakeasy. As well as a bowling alley. Head to the rooftop to play some pickle ball or relax in the pool and hot tub. After a full day, cozy up in the bed and watch the sunset sky from your room.
Breakers Resort – St. Ignace
Up in the UP, Upper Peninsula of Michigan, is Breakers Resort & Beach Bar in St. Ignace. The view from the balconies looks over Lake Huron, and Mackinac Island.
Dinner and breakfast are served in the waterfront beach bar and restaurant. With lakefront dining options right on the beach. Enjoy the pool and hot tub. There is a firepit on the beach and bonfires each evening with S’mores.
Lucky #7 – Rogers City
Wake up on the Sunrise Coast of Michigan at Lucky #7 in Rogers City, Michigan. For the low price of $69 a night. This room is fully equipped with all red amenities and cooking appliances.
The best feature of all is the heart shaped hot tub in the middle of the room. So have a relaxing candle lit bubble bath, pour a glass of wine, light the Roku fire and have a snack!
