A few of my favorite Christmas attractions in Michigan include:

Ashley Country Christmas 🎅🚂 Ashley, MI

Visit Ashley, Michigan for a magical trip back in time to the 1940’s. As the destination of the North Pole Express, the historic steam engine takes two trips per day, arriving in Ashley at 11am and 7pm, on Saturdays and Sundays from Nov. 20 -Dec. 19. Ride the 1225 into town from Owosso or come in your own vehicle. Visit Santa for your chance to win the first gift of Christmas. Play carnival games, build a toy at Santa’s workshop, grab some yummy treats and gifts to take home.

Rooftop Landing Reindeer Farm 🦌🌲 Clare, MI

Visit Clare, Michigan this season to meet and feed reindeer, go on a Santa Jeep wagon ride around the farm, have donuts by the campfire, clowns, magic and so much more. Santa Jump In was rescheduled for Nov. 20. Watch Santa and a few of his bravest elf’s parachute to the farm. @rooftoplandingreindeerfarm

Christmas Tree Lighting & Bazaar 🎄🚒 Mackinac Island, MI

In the middle of Main Street, on Mackinac Island. The annual Christmas Tree Lighting begins at 5:30pm on Dec. 3. Followed with carol singing and holiday cheer. This event kicks off the 3-day annual Christmas Bazaar, a seasonal fundraiser benefiting the Mackinac Island Community. Important tip: last ferry boat leaving the island at 6:30 pm, Star Line Ferry to St. Ignace, if you are not staying on the island. @mackinacisle

A great guide to Eco-Friendly & Inexpensive (Under $15) Stocking Stuffers For Kids on her blog, be sure to check it out for some early Christmas goodies! Also, check out a few of @allnatural.adventures favorite Christmas attractions in West Michigan, including:

🚂 Christmas & Holiday Traditions @meijergardens in Grand Rapids (pictured) – Featuring Christmas trees around the world, a Railway Garden, and lovely light displays, this is a family favorite!

🎶 Cirque de Noel @grsymphony in Grand Rapids – Acrobats, contortionists, and jugglers performing to classical Christmas music is truly a magical experience. It’s been a few years since we’ve attended, but it’s definitely one of my all-time favorite date nights!

❄️ Winter Wonderland @fellinlovefarm in Holland – Walking the decorated nature trail and visiting the Live Nativity farm animals is a new one on our holiday bucket list this year!

Frederick Meijer Garden Christmas Decor

For more holiday inspiration, a guide to the Coolest Christmas Things to do in Michigan shared by @frommichiganwithloveblog has some great options for visiting season long attractions throughout Michigan! Her favorite Michigan Christmas places, include:

🎄Candy Cane Lane in @discoverkzoo – Take a stroll in Bronson Park under giant candy canes then head over to the nearby historic Kalamazoo mall to go shopping & enjoy the sparkling lights.

🎄While in Kalamazoo, also make plans to visit Reindeer Ranch. Book a guided tour to learn about reindeer & interact with some of the herd. Tours last about 45 mins and cost $15 per person age 2 and up. There are also several cute photo stations set up!

🎄Make plans to check out the @springlakesparkle! New as of last year, 125k lights cover the trees and buildings along Savidge Street in downtown Spring Lake ever night between November 27 and January 3. On the weekends there are ‘Polar Express’ train rides for kids, pop up musical acts, food, ornament & other vendors. Adding to the charm, holiday music is played out on the streets!

CAmpus MArtius PArk Christmas tree Detroit Michigan

Another great blogger and guide for those closer to Detroit, @mrswebersneighborhood; created a very comprehensive guide with 60+ Christmas Events in Southeast Michigan {AND BEYOND} for 2021. A few of Mrs. Webers favorite Christmas attractions in Michigan include:

✨ Christmas in Detroit! The decor, lights, and beautiful tree in Campus Martius never fail to inspire. Make sure to pop by @cadillaclodge too if you visit for treats and to warm up!

✨ The Holiday Walk at @meadowbrookhallandgardens. See the mansion decked out in its holiday splendor. It’s absolutely gorgeous! Make sure to find the poinsettia tree too 😉 Read more about her experience: Christmas Magic at Meadow Brook’s Holiday Walk and Winter Wonder Lights

✨ The Fantasy of Lights parade in downtown Howell. All parades are fun, but going while it’s dark is extra special. Pack the cocoa and glow necklaces and wait for Santa himself to roll by ❤️

Be sure to save this post to keep these events and seasonal activities in mind!
