Beginner Hand Sewing: Valentine Stuffie

Cut out, hand-stitch using needle and thread, and stuff a felt Valentine cutie. Features can be sewn or glued on. No special skills required. All materials supplied. Cost: $15. Crafting Poetry: A Workshop for Adults

Art Reach of Mid Michigan – Mt Pleasant

In this 6-week course, English and Creative Writing instructor Cheryl Meyer will teach students how to create beautiful and heartfelt poetry. Not only will students have the chance to express themselves through writing but will also learn technical skills and formats of different poetry genres. This course will cover the fundamentals of form, imagery, tone, music, and dictation. Students will work in free verse, haiku, and a form poem. This 6-week course runs 6-8 pm, Tuesdays, February 1-March 8 in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant.

Downtown Grand Rapids

Valent-ICE, one of many attractions during the World of Winter Festival, showcases dozens of professionally carved ice sculptures all throughout Downtown Grand Rapids. Join a guided ice sculpture walking tour led by Grand Rapids Running Tours to learn the icy backstories of each sculpture. Ice sculptures will be left out until they melt. Special thanks to Ice Brigade for their partnership in creating these ice sculptures.
