Seems like it was just Summer, but here we are into November! Good news is, you can watch Santa parachute or take a train back in time! Everyone always asks where I find fun stuff to do, so I made a list of our favorite activities for the holiday season!

Look to they sky above Rooftop Landing Reindeer Farm in Clare, Michigan! Watch Santa and a few of his bravest elves PARACHUTE to the farm, weather permitting. Be sure to show up early and give yourself time for parking. This event is included in the admission to the farm. Farm Admission is $7/person. Ages 1 & under are free. Check website for event updates.
Silver Bells in the City – Lansing
November 19, 2021 | 6pm – 8pm
The Silver Bells in the City is scheduled for November 19, 2021 from 6-8 pm in downtown Lansing. Michigan’s official state Christmas tree lighting will take place just after 7:30 pm, will include a dazzling fireworks display (weather permitting) and an Electric Light Parade. Kick off the season and get into the holiday spirit at the Annual Silver Bells in the City, always the Friday before Thanksgiving.
Village of Ashley Country Christmas – Ashley
November 20th to December 19th, 2021 | 11am & 7pm
Visit Ashley, Michigan for a magical trip back in time to the 1940’s. As the destination of the North Pole Express, The historic steam engine takes two trips per day, rolling into town at 11am and 7pm, each Saturday and Sunday. Ride the 1225 into town or come in your own vehicle. Visit Santa for your chance to win the first gift of Christmas. Play carnival games, build a toy at Santa’s workshop, grab some yummy treats and gifts to take home. See the Village of Ashley come to life!
North Pole Express – Owosso
November 20th to December 19th, 2021
North Pole Express trains operate on Saturdays and Sundays from November 20th to December 19th, with an additional day of excursions on Friday, November 26th. Trains will depart from the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso for a four and a half hour, round trip train ride excursion, stopping at the Village of Ashley’s Country Christmas. For tickets.
The Big, Bright Light Show – Rochester
November 22 – January 3, 2022 | 5pm – Midnight
Brighten up your holidays by visiting Downtown Rochester for The Big, Bright Light Show, starting November 22 – January 3. Each evening from 5 pm – Midnight, see the buildings in downtown Rochester covered with more than 1 million points of glimmering holiday light in a colorful holiday display!
Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland – Frankenmuth
361 Days a Year
Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth, is the World’s largest Christmas store. Offering 6000 styles of Christmas ornaments, 400 styles of Nativity scenes, miles of Christmas lights, and artificial Christmas trees of all shapes and sizes. Bronner’s amazing store is the size of 1 1/2 football fields, any shopper’s dream!

A family tradition for over 30 years, the spirit of the season fills the streets of Crossroads Village for Christmas. An authentic Michigan town from the turn of the last century, with over 34 historic structures and thousands of sparkling lights. Santa waiting to say hello, for an evening of fun aboard the Huckleberry Railroad. Visit shops and watch Village artisans make vintage crafts and gifts, grab one for each person on your “Nice” list.
$10 per vehicle for Drive Through Christmas Light Display on December 6, 13, 20, 24 and 27 from 5pm-9pm.
ChristKindlMarkt – Frankenmuth
November 26-28, December 3-5, 10-12, 17-19, 31 – January 2 | 11am-8pm
Join the festive celebration of Christmas at the Frankenmuth ChristKindlMarkt. Lose yourself in the festively lit Christmas shopping wonderland housed in the Frankemuth Farmers Market. Open Friday thru Saturday from 11am-8pm and Sundays from 11am-4pm.
Sleighbell Parade & Old Christmas Weekend – Manistee
December 2-5, 2021
Step back in time for an entire weekend of excitement. Old Christmas Weekend is filled with lovely events including, Festival of Trees and the Victorian Sleighbell Parade. See draft horses pull a 30 foot Christmas tree down River Street. Enjoy a beautiful display of display of luminaries, caroling, and the lighting of the tree. Experience the magic of Manistee’s beautifully decorated historic Downtown to the sound of bagpipes, meet reindeer and greet carolers elegantly dressed in Victorian style attire.
Christmas Bazaar & Tree Lighting – Mackinac Island
December 3, 2021 | 5:30 pm.
Meet right in the middle of Main Street, across from Star Line Dock #1. The annual Christmas Tree Lighting begins at 5:30pm followed by carol singing and holiday cheer. This event kicks off a 3-day Christmas Bazaar, a seasonal Fundraiser benefiting the Mackinac Island Community. Ushering in the seasonal transition from summer tourism to slow pace winter life for the locals. Important tip: last ferry boat leaving the island at 6:30 pm, Star Line Ferry to St. Ignace and more here.

A beloved annual tradition for more than 20 years. Mingle with merrymakers at Holiday Nights in Greenfield Village each weekend in December 3-5, 9-12, 16-23, 26-28 from 6:30pm – 10pm. Greenfield Village comes alive with yuletide cheer. Step into the holiday spirit on a historic Model T or horse-drawn carriage. Explore more than 80 acres of Greenfield Village in this glimmering after-hours celebration. Followed by a firework-filled sky.
